here we go again!
The biz is buzzing in the Mid-Atlantic region! When this happens, we all gear up, expand and must keep learning, inquiring and honing our skills. While we grow our office staff (note: we are looking for an incredible freelance casting assistant with a business brain and/or technical wizardry – email info@arvold.com with your resume) and while we actively search for amazing principal and background actors for several new projects (please look daily at our casting notices board and submit for appropriate roles) we try our best to pause for a moment and reflect at the wonder of it all. And here’s why.
I think that we filmmakers – all film artists, really – have the best job in the world. We get to tell stories, we provoke emotion and we collaborate with others who have similar creative sensibilities. We work incredibly long hours under immense pressure and become a part of something bigger than ourselves, at the end of the day, we make art. On each project, we here at arvold go “down a rabbit hole” to find something new & fresh and to connect the dots in a pattern unique to that project. And isn’t that what this filmmaking art is all about? Making connections with audience members, with others and most importantly, within ourselves.
So let’s keep refining these connections, as humans and as artists, through work, through classes, and through talking to one another about our craft. And when the collective growth leads to pragmatic things such as an office expansion (did I mention we want to know you if you are an incredible freelance casting assistant with a business brain and/or technical wizardry?), I think it’s for the right reasons. Not to mention we have so much fun expanding! So, come join in the fun of our arvold.live conversations, submit to the appropriate casting notices, check out our videoblog (and please do submit any questions you have) and become active in our Mid-Atlantic filmmaking community. I believe that we all, as a region, are all truly coming into our own.
We here at arvold are so grateful for the opportunities on the horizon!
