arvold LIVE: chapter four

LiveBlue crop larger

working successfully in commercials, television and film

Please join us in a series of conversations open to all film artists and artisans.

Our own casting director/producer Erica Arvold, CSA, and acting coach Richard Warner invite you to Chapter Four of an ongoing discussion about the creative life and an actor’s craft.  They’ll talk about what it means to be artists, industry professionals, and humans.

The series explores the philosophical and pragmatic aspects of not only maintaining but growing your career, polishing and refining your craft, raising the bar of this industry, and keeping yourself healthy, especially mentally and spiritually.

Our first three lively conversations focused on WHY we do what we do and HOW we do it.  This next session’s topic will be WHAT we do: the genres and processes. Erica and Richard will lead a discussion on the similarities and differences, from obvious to nuanced, among the three major areas of our work: commercials, television and film.

Saturday, September 6
1-4pm
Charlottesville, VA

Discussion topics will include:

-Researching and connecting with professionals in commercial, TV and film
-The difference in presenting yourself in each genre
-Preparing for the specifics of an audition in each area
-The audition itself: who is in the room and what they want to see
-The callback: what you bring back and what you change
-On set, studio or location: rules, rituals & etiquette
-How and why to evaluate the entire experience for future artistic growth

Tickets are $60/person.  This will be an intimate group discussion where active participation is encouraged and welcomed, so space is limited.  To reserve your seat, please email amy.quick@arvold.com
