arvold. summer 2017

Happy Summer! The latest news from arvold…

arvold.education

We’ve been traveling a whole lot lately. Our education team members have been honored to participate as panelists, guests and instructors for several institutions and programs including the Virginia Theatre Association’s Career Jumpstart panel discussion at University of Virginia, Regent University’s MFA panel discussion, Richmond International Film Festival’s Flow Conference and the Film Marketing, Distribution & Finance Symposium speaker series. We would like to thank St. Anne’s-Belfield Upper School, Longwood University, VA Repertory Theatre & Cadence Theatre Company’s TRAIN Program and The Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting, in conjunction with The George Washington University for collaborating with and hosting arvold.education events.

We are headed back to Atlanta next week and collaborating with both the Robert Mello Studio and Catapult Acting Studios, offering two of our most popular core classes: total preparation & the actor’s persona. There are a few seats left, so sign up quickly if you are interested (returning students, as these classes are jam packed with nuanced information, we welcome you to enroll again as a refresher). And, arvold.education will return to Atlanta again in late September with a robust assortment of master intensives…keep an eye out for specific dates & offerings.

While in Atlanta, Erica will be guest speaking at Artist Spotlight Creative Expo at Georgia Tech on Saturday, July 29. For a 50% discount, use code ARVOLD. Erica & Richard Warner are also speaking at The Muriel Moore/Danny Nelson SAG-AFTRA Conservatory on Monday, August 7. Members are encouraged to bring a donation of food for the local food pantry. arvold.education loves volunteering for community-inspired events such as these!

arvold.casting

There is much love to share in this department! From the pilot through the fourth and final season, we are honored to have been a part of AMC’s TURN: Washington’s Spies. We are grateful to our TURN family, and get all the feels when watching the show – it has been a beautiful, collaborative, creative endeavor.

arvold.casting conducted a search for a lead character in Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time. Check out the trailer here. We also enjoyed collaborating with local production companies and directors for multiple short form projects including Carilion Clinic.

Lastly, we helmed local casting for Netflix’s House of Cards season five and are proud of the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast actors and agents who submitted and auditioned. You had a profound impact on the season, thank you. Congratulations to all of the Emmy nominees!

arvold.production

We loved stretching our field production company’s muscles for YMCA of the USA’s photo shoot in Chesapeake, VA. Keep your eyes peeled for the new campaign.

arvold.production not only creates original content, but also has been consulting on the development of several feature film and television projects. We want to recognize these exciting relationships. As always, we appreciate the many inquiries we receive regarding our services and love collaborating with other production companies.

Our production team is constantly expanding our arvold. YouTube channel. Please view these video blogs, subscribe and send questions to info@arvold.com. We rely on your interaction to keep the topics relevant, useful and inspiring so please drop us a line.

Drumroll, please… we created an arvold.production reel! As we edited this piece, we recalled the many collaborators, contributors and individuals we’ve worked with over the years – please know how grateful we are to each and every one of you.

That’s only half of the year…here’s to an equally dynamic second half of 2017!

Looking forward,

Erica & the arvold. team
